David, Remixed

June 26, 2016 · Tim Clark

As we reflect on David’s life, we find four character traits of David.

1. Ready for direction

“David inquired of the Lord” (1 Sam 23:2, 1 Sam 23:4, 1 Sam 30:8, 2 Sam 2:1, 2 Sam 5:19, 2 Sam 5:23)

2. Geared towards action

Once David knew what he needed to do, he didn’t say “someday I’ll get to it”, he took immediate action. See 1 Sam 17.

3. Open to correction

Many times, David responded to God’s correction through others (2 Sam 19, 1 Sam 25, 1 Sam 23, 2 Sam 12).

4. Pursuing repentance

David’s responses were marked by repentance (2 Sam 12, 1 Sam 24, 2 Sam 24).
