O God, My God!

July 10, 2019·Brian Majors

As people close to me have been encountering trials, heartache, death, etc., and as a flawed human being, I sometimes question God’s faithfulness and goodness. There have been times recently when I’ve felt guilty for asking, “God, where were You then, or why did that happen?” The writer of Psalm 43 reminds us that in the midst of foggy vision, doubt, and questioning God, we have access to where He dwells, and He’s the One who holds the title of “O God, my God.”

Found in verse 3, this could be a prayer, exhortation, or simply my own self desire, “Send me Your light and Your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy mountain, to the place where You dwell” (Psalm 43:3, NIV).

O God, our God! In the midst of trials, heartache, sickness and death, I pray Your light will illumine our paths and give us direction. I pray You will gently remind us of what You’ve done in our lives and Your faithfulness to walk alongside us through the messy seasons of life.

As you go about this week, be reminded that God is “…my joy and my delight, I will praise You…O God, my God” (Psalm 43:4, NIV).

Joy, peace and love,
Pastor Brian Majors
