“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). — Matthew 1:23

Also the Greatest Christmas verse that many know but would not necessarily be quoted at Christmas time.

“For God so loved the world that he sent his only son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” –John 3:16

  • God sent His Son to give you eternal life!
  • We could not get to God, so God came to us.
  • God with us!  — Salvation is a free gift

Why did God need to send His Son?

(Radio Commentator) Paul Harvey’s Christmas Story tells us…
(Paraphrased) … It’s a story about a father who didn’t believe or understand why it was necessary for God to come as a baby so he refused to go to church. So after the rest of his family went to church he stayed home and as time passed that evening he noticed a small bird trying to fly in through a window out of the cold. He tried and tried to help it, but it became afraid, and went away from him because it didn’t know what he wanted. The man realized out of frustration that he could not communicate with the bird.  “If only the bird would understand, it would not keep flying away”… Then he realized, he would have to become a bird in order to tell it that he was trying to help it. Otherwise it would continue to injure itself by hitting the window. Then the church bells rang and now he understood why God sent His Son into the world.

Look at Who has come to the world!

This Christmas time…

  • Come without fear!
  • Come with full hope!
  • Come knowing that God loves you!

He offers light without darkness and invites us into a family defined with life and not by death.
Christmas  touches our souls with the universal truth of God “with us” (who came as a human to touch mankind) to the personal reality of God “in you,” when you accept Him into your heart.
